I've been quite busy preparing for you. I painted a wall. I've rearranged the furniture several times already. I've climbed ladders to hang posters and signs. I've organized cabinets and supplies. I've carefully selected colors and decorative touches to make our classroom our daily art "home" for the year. I will spend many more hours and days preparing. I love getting ready for a new school year.
Why all these preparations? Like you I'm both excited and nervous about school. I'm looking forward to trying new activities. I wonder what you will think of my room. I hope you will have fun and learn. I hope I don't completely embarrass myself. I worry about fitting in on a new campus. I hope I remember my lunch. I rehearse how I want our first day to go I want to make a good impression- on YOU. I can't wait to get to know YOU this year, and I want to help get YOU off to great start.
I would LOVE to hear about your preparations for school. Did you get a special outfit to wear? What school supplies do you look forward to using? What makes you nervous about fifth or sixth grade? What are you looking forward to? I want to know!
Write me a letter (you can bring it on the first day of class), send me an email (JanaPerkins@misdmail.org), or complete this form letting me know about your back-to-school preparations.
